Iron Man first appeared in Marvel Comics in the Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963). Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Jack Kirby, Iron Man is now a mega superhero star thanks the the release of the 2 movies of the same name in recent years.
Quick History of Iron Man
Iron Man is Anthony Edward Stark, aka Tony, who is an industrialist playboy and ingenious engineer who suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping attempt. During his capture, he created a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. He later refined the suit to protect the world as Iron Man.
According to the storyline, Iron Man is a member of the superhero team, the Avengers. In the movies, the character is portrayed by Robert Downey, Jr. in Iron Man (2008) and Iron Man 2 (2010). Fans can look forward to Avengers (2012) and the Iron Man 3.
